Female-founded Austin startups Inn Cahoots and BOXT give back to Austinites with free hot showers during Austin water crisis.
AUSTIN, TX, FEBRUARY 20, 2021 – Inn Cahoots and BOXT are joining forces to help Austinites in need of a hot shower and some cheer this week.
As communities around Austin deal with ongoing power outages and lack of running water, two local businesses, Inn Cahoots and BOXT, are coming together to offer hot showers and a relaxing glass of wine to help ease the stress and pressure of this past week.
Inn Cahoots, a hybrid hotel and Airbnb space in East Austin, is letting anyone who needs it sign up for a time slot to shower, use its kitchen and more, for free.
BOXT, the Austin startup and fine wine disrupter that puts their fine wine in a BOXT and delivers it to your door, wants to give back in whatever way they can.
“We have hot water, which means we have hot showers, which I know is something everyone wants right now and they can just come in,” says Kristn Carson, founder of Inn Cahoots.
The showers and other amenities are cleaned after each use and BOXT is helping to pay for that cleaning. The two women have teamed up before, and Puil has used Inn Cahoots for her company retreats and private wine tastings.
“We make wine, but we still want to help any way we can, so helping pay for the staff to clean after each shower is one of the ways we can give back right now,” said Sarah Puil, founder and CEO of BOXT.
