Let's sip while we celebrate!

Hello Friends,

Let the holidays begin! We’re so delighted they start with the spooky one. It seems like the perfect set up to the craziness of the rest of the season. I’m seeing headstones and bats and creepy skeletons and ghosts hanging from trees. Someone’s cauldron boiled at me yesterday as I walked by.

So because now I’m freaked out in the best way possible, I thought it appropriate to share some of the spooky things we’re indulging in this year.

As you know, Jordy, our head of customer experience, is always reading, and for spooky month she recommends The Orphanage by the Lake, Daniel G. Miller or Twilight Eyes, by Dean Koontz. This year marked the 50th anniversary of Stephen King’s Carrie and of course they put out a new edition to celebrate, so if you’ve never read it, or haven’t read it since you were a kid under the covers with the flashlight, now is the perfect time.

We’ve decorated the winery with all manner of ghoulish things, but our favorite is the coffin-shaped felt letter board so we can leave each other creepy messages before we lock the doors for the night.

Breakfast just isn’t breakfast unless you’ve got skull pancakes and this witchy tea pot

Even though we bought it to go with my daughter’s costume, this lip paint by Rihanna is going in my purse.

For the not-so-spooky decor, my daughter picked out this gorgeous pampas grass wreath–it’s already got lights! And these cute trick-or-treat and bat banners for her room.

We’ll also be making candied and caramel apples, and if we like the recipe we’re trying out, we’ll share it with you next week.

And of course, I’ll be decorating with a glass of wine.

Let us know if you need us to send you some!

Cheers,

Sarah
